Some 12,000 Iraqi policemen died since the U.S.-led war broke out in March 2003- one death for every 16 officers, Iraq’s interior minister said yesterday at a news conference in Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone area, as news emerged that violence over the past weekend killed at least 12 Iraqi officers and 6 U.S. occupation troops.
